Drive to win is a must for all drivers wishing to improve...

A perfect addition to Mr. Smith's line of books is "Drive to Win". If you wish to improve your skills as a hobbyist or professional then read this book. The book is slightly slanted to the race driver who wishes to enter the professional ranks, but is very informative for the non-professional as well.
The best racing book on earth!!!!!!

this book is a masterpiece...never has their been such an indepth study of race driving...a must for any young(or even experienced for that matter) driver. I have read many books on the subject but was astonished at Smith's understanding of race driving...this book has taught me a lot. I strongly recommend this book.
Fantastic summary of the race car driving "essentials"

Carroll Smith outlines all the skills and attributes that it takes to be a first class driver. There are sections on race craft, fitness both mental and physical, chassis tuning, tire selection, data acquisition, and general tuning concepts. A well-written and informative book for the race car driver both experienced and novice. Unlike some of the other books that I have read in this category, it was entertaining and informative as opposed to the "text book" style that seems to be so common!
Excellent general reference

The author explains things clearly and concisely, with techy stuff included for those who want to go into it deeper.

Less time is spent on driving lines, more on learning how to set the car up and recognise what it is doing wrong, and what the driver is doing wrong but trying to blame the car for.
